THE proposals to leave bins with the ‘wrong’ contents unemptied and with red cards attached, will make a great many people angry.
Like many householders, we try very hard to recycle correctly and would be furious if we were to incur such an unfair punishment.
I wonder how Trafford Council intends to make sure that every item in every bin has been placed there by the household to whom the bin belongs.
As most bins are left out on public streets for hours before collection, anyone passing by could put anything in those bins, no matter how hard the householders try to fill them correctly.
It would be unacceptable for the bin men to leave any bin unemptied, unless they can prove it has been securely locked within the appropriate private property until the moment of emptying.
As this is impossible, such a silly scheme won't work.
We pay Trafford Council to take away our rubbish (ALL of it!), not to invent ways to waste money and irritate residents.
