Justin Bieber has revealed the key to his successful relationship with Selena Gomez - treating his girlfriend like royalty.

The 18-year-old pop star, who has been dating the Wizards Of Waverly Place star for over a year, admitted he wants to give her the fairytale she always dreamed of.

"I'm just trying to make her happy, that's all," he told US Seventeen.

"I think it's important to make all women feel like they're princesses, because every girl is a princess. I'm serious," he added.

Justin has treated Selena to a string of lavish dates, including trips to Hawaii and renting out the Staples Centre in Los Angeles for a private screening of Titanic.

He previously told E! News that it was important to be able to apologise.

"To be a great boyfriend you just have to have patience and... you're always wrong when it comes to girls, so just say sorry when things are rough," he said.
