Trafford Fairtrade Steering Group held an event with St Matthew's Stretford during Fair Trade Fortnight. "A Taste of Fairtrade" was a lively and well-attended event, where people enjoyed a wide variety of home-made cakes, all produced using as many fair trade ingredients as possible, had the opportunity to taste various food and wine samples, watch dvds, and browse the goods on stalls run by Oxfam, Aztec, Silver Chilli jewellry and Traidcraft. Thanks to the generosity of the Co-op (the Barton Road store and the Customer Services Team) there was a superb range of fair trade products to sample and an excellent raffle. The group was also grateful to Tesco, in the Mall, for providing a range of fair trade chocolate and cakes. The event raised £170 for Traidcraft Exchange, to support its work with producers in various countries.
