The Fairtrade film BLACK GOLD will be shown at the Cornerhouse (Manchester) from 8th to 14th. June 2007.
Passionately committed to its subject, Fairtrade documentary BLACK GOLD is also lovingly crafted, giving extra resonance to its trail of the coffee bean, from near-starving Ethiopian farmers via commodity exchanges, corporations and the WTO to supermarkets and Starbucks worldwide. And there is Ethiopian Farmers Co-op rep Tadesse Meskela who travels the world trying to obtain a fair price for his farmers' beans.
