ARE you the next Robbie Williams or Beyonce? Can you dance like a dream, or have an audience rolling in the aisles with your best gags?

Now you have the chance to bring your talent to a wider audience.

Messenger is launching a new competition – Talented Trafford – and is inviting readers to send in audition videos or audio files of them doing what they do best.

A selection of the best videos and audio files will be posted on Messenger’s website to face the public vote, with the top acts going through to a grand live final in September.

There they will be seeking to impress a panel of judges.

Talented Trafford is not just about giving the borough’s most gifted their moment in the spotlight.

Proceeds from sales of tickets will go towards Messenger’s charity, Hearts and Minds Challenge, which aims to raise £1m to build a school for children with autism. It is a project that has attracted celebrity backing from the likes of Boyzone singer Keith Duffy, whose daughter Mia has the condition.

While the location of the school has yet to be decided, it could be built in Trafford.

So, dust off your dancing shoes or tune up your guitar and get recording yourself.

The competition has two age groups – eight to 17 years and 18s and over.

There are a number of ways to enter.

You can email your video to talent@messengergrp.co.uk or, if the video is already on YouTube, simply email the YouTube link to the same email address.

All videos need to be under 50MB and in any format other than Flash.

We will also accept audio files. Either send an mp3 or give us the details of a platform (such as Soundcloud), where we will be able to download it.

Anyone entering the eight to 17 years category will need to prove they have their parent or guardian’s permission. Public voting will be by phone or text.

The closing date for entries is Thursday, August 8.

Usual Newsquest competition rules apply.

You can visit newsquest.co.uk/terms for full details of those rules.
