AK 1st team travelled to Leigh and continued their good form of late, producing a great all round team performance to win 43 – 6.

Playing into a strong wind in the first half AK took control of the game and scored tries through Louis Taylor and John Geddis.

Rob Holloway converted both and added a penalty, to which Leigh’s only response was two long range penalties, as AK led 17 – 6 at the break Further tries in the second half were scored for AK by Sam Moncur (2), Sean Clayton and Tony O’Connor, with Rob Holloway adding three conversions. This win lifts AK up to 4th in North West 1.

On Sunday the AK Under 16s travelled to Newcastle under Lyme and came away with a hard fought 36 – 17 win. Sam Nero scored a hat trick of tries, with others scored by Sam Yarrow and Adam Welton. Adam also kicked a penalty and four conversions.

Next Saturday AK entertain Manchester at Stelfox Avenue, Timperley ko 3pm. It is also the AK ex-players reunion at 1pm that day and there is a European Beer Festival taking place throughout the weekend at the club. All welcome to attend.
