Building on the Olympic legacy
8:00am Thursday 16th August 2012 in Trafford Sport
TRAFFORD MV Rugby Club in Sale are looking to build on the Olympic ‘feel-good’ factor.
The club wants to add to the already impressive numbers attending their Sunday morning mini/junior sessions which begin with enrolment days on September 2 and 9.
Trafford MV has become firmly established as a recognised nursery for local rugby talent and provides early years multi-sports skills for the very young (three years upwards), tag rugby for the slightly older children and then as the age groups progress and strength and skills are developed the young players are introduced to physical contact and tackling.
All coaching structures are fully incorporated within the England RFU guidelines and all age groups have qualified coaches.
Trafford MV are asking all local parents, teachers, businesses to encourage young people of all ages and abilities to get down to their local sports clubs - no matter what the sport.
MV's senior rugby players continue their pre-season following on from last weeks 10-10 draw with neighbours Ashton on Mersey.
Both sides enjoyed the action and it was MV's Adam Heathcote that saved the day with his last minute try of the match. Tonight (Thurs) MV host Didsbury Toc H in a 7pm kick off friendy before embarking on a training camp weekend in the Lake District including a final warm up match against Windermere. Then its action all the way as MV travel to Burnley on Aug 25 in the Lancs Cup.
