Stretford and District Darts League 2012 Darts Report

IN the Stretford and District 501 Darts Summer league, Rileys Chorlton set out their stall for the season with a 7-0 whitewash over newly promoted Greenbrow Social Club.

Fellow Division 1 newcomers the John Alker Club A fared slightly better in their game against reigning champions the Winston CC who had to come from behind to claim a 4-3 win, the United Services Club beat the Roebuck B by 6-1 and the Bishops Blaize vs the Little B was postponed.

In the second division The Quarry Bank showed why they were only just relegated last season with a 6-1 win over Roebuck A, Ashton on Mersey CC away at the Cringlewood managed a comfortable 5-2 win, the Railway (Broadheath) got the edge over rivals the British Rail club winning 4-3 away from home in the latest fixture of this local derby while new team the John Alker B won a last leg decider over the Bulls Head to open their account with a 4-3 win.

Ricky Shelmerdine of the Roebuck B hit this week's highest checkout with a 115, Steve Manford of Rileys Chorlton hit the least darts with a 14 darter.
