Laure aims for gold

TRAFFORD’S Laurie Williams wants to make it two gold medals in as many years after being selected for Great Britian’s women’s wheelchair basketball squad for the BT Paralympic World Cup.

Laurie, who has no feelings in her legs following a childhood virus, and her teammates will face Australia, Japan and the USA between May 22-26.

Former Altrincham Grammar pupil Laurie was part of the triumphant Team GB squad that beat Germany 63-52 in last year’s final at the Manchester Regional Arena.
