Altrincham Kersal 24 Penrith 32

AK welcomed Penrith for their final game of the season in National League 3 North.

AK started brightly and took the lead through a Steve Davidson penalty. Both sides were playing entertaining and expansive rugby but Penrith took their chances well to score three tries and lead 17 – 3.

However, just before half time Tristan Laga scored a converted try for AK, to bring the score back to 17 – 10.

AK had most of the early pressure in the second half and good forward play got Dylan O’Grady over for a converted try to tie the scores. Penrith responded with a further try but with only a few minutes to go Nathan Bailey got over for another AK try and Steve Davidson added his third conversion to put AK back in the lead.

However a controversial penalty put AK Penrith back in front and in the final minute with AK attacking, Penrith managed to turn the ball over and break away for a final try to win the game 32 - 24.

On Sunday AK Under 12s beat Wirral 63 – 21 with tries from Connor Doherty (4), Tom Ashton (2), Ollie Stephenson, Jack Abbott and Christos Nikou.
