SALE Men’s Hockey Club saw their first team stay well clear in their division after a 6-2 romp at Colwyn Bay.
George Sterlini set Sale on the victory trail with the opening goal on five minutes and they were 3-0 to the good at the break with Lyndon Hessing and Mark Holmes.
Sale assured the win with a fourth from man of the match Lewis Shaw minutes after the restart and although Colwyn Bay grabbed two consolation goals the Sale six-hit was completed by Ben Smith and Danny Pratt.
Sale seconds avenged two big defeats by Winnington Park with a 4-2 success.
Scoring before the break for Sale were Jon Jordan and Scott Raftery and although Park levelled at 2-2 Adam Brady and goal machine Ian Ellis struck for a welcome Sale win with the man of the match being Phil Langridge to leave Sale three points off second place.
Sale thirds lost their unbeaten record in emphatic style crashing 6-2 at Macclesfield with the Sale consolations coming from Savio Martins and Nick Buchanan but Sale are still three points clear at the top of their division.
