CALLUM Grindle is relishing the opportunities his new role as assistant professional to James Salt at Ringway to further his career in golf.

Callum went to school at West Hill High School in Stalybridge and took up golf at eight years of age as a junior at Denton Golf Club.

He had a hole in one at the age of ten from the men’s white competition tees and went on to become a Lancashire junior at the age of 14- the youngest in the county at that time

He went on to win the Southport and Ainsdale gross competition at the age of 15 and looking to progress as far as he could he moved to America at the age of 18 for three years playing football before returning to join the professional golf ranks at the age of 21 securing the assistant professional role at Ringway.

Callum said: “I would like to thank my family for the support in my journey to date and also to my golf coaches and finally to James for giving me the chance to continue my progress at Ringway.

“My aim is to keep playing but also to coach to the highest level, watching clients succeed and win makes me feel special, also social media coaching which I love as it gives me a chance to interact with people all over the world and could also help people to come down to Ringway and try this amazing course.

“My final thanks go to Ringway for having me here and treating me with so much respect and helping me with this journey so far, - I wouldn’t be here without the members and James Salt - so a big thank you to them.”
