HOLDERS Altrincham and Sale Round the Board Darts League lost their latest inter-league clash against the Grappenhall League 17-11.
The match saw 28 players from each league playing against one another in a best of three legs contest.
Altrincham and Sale League got off to a slow start with some of the main players losing their matches.
As the games progressed the Altrincham and Sale throwers started to kick back with some excellent wins coming from Gary Sullivan, John Chisnall and Andy McCormack.
The fightback was short-lived, though, and Grappenhall had a second surge taking out more players to strengthen their position.
There were still wins for the Altrincham and Sale League via Jason Hall, Darren Wood, Paul Andrews, Callum Nolan, Ric Kiel, Andy Hopkinson and Mike Swindles.
But the trophy went to Grappenhall who will hold on to the cup until September 10 when the return match will be played at Broadheath Central Club.
