MANAGER Tom Baker hopes to continue Trafford FC's progression next season and give the club's loyal supporters even more to be proud of.

After a play-off placed finish in Evo-Stik North and an appearance in the Manchester Premier Cup final, Baker believes the club is heading in the right direction.

And he says the aim next season is to keep on that upward spiral.

In his column in the club's newsletter, Baker said: "I sit here now really proud of how far we have come in the three seasons I have been in charge and for a guy who had never managed before, that gives me great satisfaction.

"I feel I have driven the club forward both on and off the pitch, lifted the level of professionalism and got people talking about Trafford FC again.

"I had no doubt when I took the job on that I could do this but I must say none of it is achievable if you are not given the platform to do it.

"The chairman John Eadie and the directors have backed me all the way, as have all of the committee.

"The progression we have made we have made together and while Iā€™m at this football club I will continue to try and push standards up and improve constantly ā€“ you cannot sit still."

Baker hopes for more of that support next season with the aim of even more success for the growing fanbase at Shawe View.

He added: "Before I was appointed as the manager, I came to watch a home game at Shawe View at the end of the relegated season.

"Grantham were the opposition and Trafford actually won the game and it was a rare win that season I believe, but it obviously did not stop relegation.

"There were hardly any fans in the ground that day; there was no noise, no singing and no atmosphere.

"Look at where we are now. Home games now feel like a real party atmosphere.

"Everyone is enjoying themselves in anticipation of supporting their team and watching an exciting football match.

"For a modest club like Trafford to have that level of support is something to be proud of.

"I personally want to thank the fans for what they have produced this season and the memories they have given me and my players.

"The players and the fans have forged a special bond."
