ANDY Power netted another four goals and the man-of-the-match award as Urmston Hockey Club men’s firsts edged a thrilling encounter 7-5 against Division Two West leaders Windermere men’s firsts.

He was joined on the scoresheet by Stefan Wasilewski, Sean Barrett, and a rare goal for Andy Lowe as the Greens sealed back-to-back wins.

The ladies’ firsts also staged an upset as they beat Division Two South West table-toppers Deeside Ramblers 2-1 as Issy Seed helped herself to another brace.

The win broke Deeside’s 100-per-cent start to the campaign as Urmston moved up to ninth place with the three points.

The men’s seconds were on the receiving end of a similar upset as they were beaten 1-0 by Bury seconds in Division Five North South, while the men’s thirds moved up to sixth place in Division Eight South East with a 4-2 win against Bowdon’s eighth team.

Meanwhile, the club is hosting a comedy night on Saturday with award-winning comedians gracing Urmston Sports Club on Moorside Road.

Headliner James Meehan has been nominated for best Edinburgh Festival newcomer and will be supported by UK Pun Champion Lovdev Barpaga, BBC3's Harriet Dyer, and Nando's New Comedian Finalist, Sian Davies.

Harry Stachini will be headlining with tickets available for £10 in advance from the clubhouse bar and on the gate.
