OLD Stretfordians were held to a 1-1 draw by Bury Ams as they slipped from top spot in Division One of the Lancashire and Cheshire Amateur Football League.

Bury took the lead before the break with a fine strike from Josh Sharpe and Strets had to wait until the 85th minute before getting a share of the spoils with an equaliser from Raul Gordon.

There was better news for Strets' thirds in Division D as they beat Trafford United thirds 4-1 on home soil.

In an excellent game, Tom Delaney (two), Danny Vaughan and Paul Hulme were on target for Strets with Rob Curran bagging the United consolation.

In the Rhodes Cup, it needed a 4-3 penalty shootout success for Hooley Bridge Celtic at Trafford United after a 2-2 deadlock.

Meanwhile, in the Whitehead Cup Salford Vics seconds made it through with an exciting 3-2 win at Trafford United seconds.

The first goal for Vics came on 44 minutes through James Grantham and Rob Payne beat the offside trap to double the lead before Curtis Slater reduced the arrears on 65 minutes.

Vics looked home and dry when Payne bagged his second but United kept the game open until the end after Slater grabbed his second.
