REIGNING Altrincham and Sale Round the Board Darts League champions Timperley Cons got the winter league off to a flyer with an impressive 7-0 win against The Station.
It was the first round of matches on Monday and Budenburgs also registered a 7-0 triumph against Brooklands Tap.
The Gardeners Arms started their first winter season with a fantastic 6-1 win against the Brigadier, who are also in their first winter season.
Two of the league's strong teams clashed with the Central at home against the Cringlewood and as expected it was a closely-fought match with the Central coming out on top 4-3.
Central's Andy McCormack checked out in the least darts of the league so far with a 15 in his first leg and then in the second leg beat that with a 14-darter.
Another close match saw British Rail win 4-3 against Old Hall.
