OLD Stretfordians stay on top of The Lancashire and Cheshire Amateur Football League Division two after they worked hard for a 3-2 win at Bury Ams.

But two teams are hot on their heels with two games in hand.

Waterloo were good value for a 4-1 win at Stoconians and they set up victory with three first-half goals from Danny Hugo, Jordan Thompson and Kieran Mills.

Stocs tried hard to reduce the arrears in the second half but could only manage a consolation strike as Mills sealed the Waterloo win with a late spot-kick.

Milton also have a 100-per-cent record as they beat Trafford United 4-0, and there were other good wins for Salford Vics, 5-1 against Chorltonians, and Parrs Wood Celtic, 4-0 in their local derby at Didsbury.

Salford Vics got off to a flyer as 16-year-old Keen Switzer lobbed the keeper from 40 yards after 90 seconds and further goals from Jonathan Hayes, Tom Lawman and Josh Lawman had then 4-0 ahead after 18 minutes.

In an even second half, Liam Chadwick added a fifth and Chorlts got a consolation with a great free kick. Vics' top players were Matty Baily and Biron Ward.

The game of the day in the Premier Division between the top two teams produced a stunning 6-1 win for Moorside Rangers at High Lane to end Lane’s100-per-cent record and move Rangers level on points with a game in hand.

Rangers set off at a fast pace and did not allow Lane any space, and after Heard went close on five minutes they took a firm grip on the game.

Sixsmith and Goodman put Rangers 2-0 to the good at the break and although Lane came out with much more gusto in the second half and got their reward with a goal from Leeson, Heard fired in a missile minutes later to restore Rangers’ two-goal advantage.

The goals then flowed for Rangers as Sixsmith completed his hat-trick and Gill made amends for a spot-kick miss by firing in the rebound after Goodman had hit the bar.

Rochdalians kept up their consistent form with a 3-1 win at Whalley Range keeping them in third place as their pacy attack caused problems throughout the game.

Reigning champions Mellor had a comfortable 6-0 win against lowly Newton Heath to keep in touch with the leaders with games in hand.

In a close encounter Newton posted their second win of the season, by the odd goal in seven hosting Signol Athletic.

Old Ashtonians played their delayed Lancashire Amateur Cup clash at Old Mostonians but were well beaten 5-2.

Moston United continue to set the pace in Division Two with a comfortable 3-0 win at AFC Oldham, but hunting them down with games in hand are Chorltonians seconds, with a 5-1 win against Newton seconds, Spurley Hey, who beat Bedians 4-2, and Hooley Bridge Celtic, who have three games in hand and won 3-1 at Swinton.

New boys Dom Doyle are looking unstoppable in Division Three as they extended their goal difference to 21 with a 6-0 win at Moston Brook seconds.

Two free kicks from centre-back Adam Garner and one from Steve Tudor had Vics in control at the break with a three-goal lead.

Lane pulled one back after 50 minutes before Garner completed his first-ever hat-trick from the penalty spot as seventh heaven was reached with further goals from Rob Payne (two) and a first-ever goal from Ben Johnson-Sullivan, with Lane getting a late consolation.
