YOUNG athletes from Sale Harriers Manchester won a national title in Birmingham last week.
A group of under-13s and u15s travelled to the Alexander Stadium for the Lower Age Group Youth Development Team final and edged out Southampton and Blackheath and Bromley by four points to clinch top spot.
Sale had to finish top of the Northern Premiership Division over a series of four meetings to qualify for the final – an achievement they have completed annually for the last 10 years.
Over a full day of track and field events the athletes gave their all and saw off competition from seven other teams.
The team dedicated their win to the victims of the Manchester terror attack, as a number of the club's athletes were present at the Ariana Grande concert and competitors wore t-shirts featuring a bee design on the back in support.
