TIMPERLEY'S first XI met with disappointment in their local derby fixture with Bowdon in the Cheshire County Cricket League Premier Division.

Electing to bat, Bowdon posted 195-8 off 55 overs with no batsmen pressing on after making a start, James McDougall top-scoring with 39.

Jack White again took the bowling honours with 4-64, supported by Rudi Brenner with 2-60.

Timperley were well placed following an opening partnership of 57 between Cooper and Hodnett but haemorrhaged wickets there on in, with only captain Craig Grindley (33) offering meaningful support to Tyrone Lawrence (53 not out) in the run chase.

Despite this, Timperley still looked as if they would win but lost their last three wickets for two runs to finish 190 all out with 10 balls left.

The second XI fixture at Marple was cancelled due to rain getting under the covers and damaging the wicket.

A makeshift third XI played Wilmslow Wayfarers and lost by three wickets.

Batting first, they scored 161 all out with Ammar Chittalia playing well for his 60.

In reply, Wilmslow reached their target in 41 overs with Shan top scoring with 43no. Anaruj Natarajan bowled well for a 3-34 return.

The fourths played Appleton and won comfortably by 192 runs.

They scored 236-4 with Girish Huzurbazar (112) scoring his eighth club century.

He was well-supported by Surya Ginjupalli with 62.

In reply, Appleton never got going and were dismissed for 54, with Haroon Bangee taking 4-17.

On Sunday, the fifth XI played Urmston and drew. Batting first Timperley scored for 208-9, with Mo Ali scoring his second hundred (103) in two weeks, Wazir Ahmed taking 3-32 for Urmston.

Unfortunately for Urmston, 14 overs were lost to rain but they pressed for victory to finish on 174-9, with Conor Naughton top scoring with 94, Timperley's Tabish Ahmed (3-23) the pick of the bowlers.
