TIMPERLEY’s first XI returned to form with a draw against Nantwich in the Cheshire County Cricket League Premier Division and a Cheshire Cup quarter-final win against Bramhall.

On Saturday, Timperley bowled first and held Nantwich to 216 all out in 52 overs, Jack White (4-30) again bowling well and supported by Rudi Brenner (4-68).

Timperley were well placed at 55-0 off 11 overs when rain stopped play.

On Sunday, Timperley were convincing winners against Bramhall by 10 wickets after dismissing their opponents for only 110 in 32.2 overs on a poor wicket, with Nathan Brown leading the way with 4-29.

Unlike in the recent league match, Timperley’s batting was stronger with Kulkarni (35 not out) and Hodnett (58no) seeing the team to victory.

The seconds lost at Nantwich by eight wickets. Batting first they only scored 125 all out in 42.1 overs.

Jamie Fisher was the only batsman to play any sort of innings with a well-taken 46, while Ben Mogg bowled well for 6-17 off 14 overs.

In reply, Nantwich got home comfortably in 36 overs despite the use of eight different bowlers by Timperley.

The third XI played Brooklands and lost by four wickets.

Batting first, they scored 149, with Girish Huzurbazar playing well for 73.

In reply, Brooklands were in difficulty at 20-6 but Vesey (58no) and Jones (53no) saw Brooklands home with a seventh-wicket partnership of more than 130. Aayush Nanda bowled well for his 4-14.

The fourths played Bowdon Vale and lost by three wickets.

They scored 176-8, with Sanchit Shukla top scoring with 82.

In reply, Bowdon Vale batted steadily and won inside 41 overs, Adil Naeem 4-33 the pick of the bowling.

On Sunday, the fifth XI drew against Bollington. Batting first Timperley made 227-2 off 33 overs, Mo Ali (106) and Ammar Chittalia (67) the star batsmen.

In reply, Bollington scored 211-9 off 47 overs with Jos Collier striking a well-played 122, Tabish Ahmed 3-19 the best bowler.
