BROOKLANDS Cricket Club's first XI picked up all 25 points last weekend with a 104-run win at Northwich in Cheshire County Cricket League Division Two.

After returning skipper AJ Hart won the toss and decided to have a bat, openers Chris Hart and Jack Bagshaw made a solid start before Hart fell for 13.

Kevin Carroll continued his good form from the previous week, smashing 43 off just 25 balls, before he was run out.

Bagshaw quickly followed for 38 and Dave Madden was dismissed for 24 but the innings belonged to AJ Hart who, coming in at number five, piled on an excellent 119 not out off just 62 balls.

Hart tested out the Northwich boundary rope with a mammoth 16 fours and four sixes.

Alex Edwards provided excellent back-up for Hart as he hit his first half-century of the season, finishing on 51no.

Chasing 292, the home side were never really at the races and as much as the first innings was dominated by Hart, the second was all about Rob Leach.

The Northwich openers started steadily with Luke Tapsfield hitting 42 before he was removed by Leach. Leach then proceeded to rip through the rest of the top-order on his way to a season's best 6-56 off 11 overs.

Lee Evans provided a fightback with 38 before his was trapped lbw off a rare Christian Hart over.

The home side never really looked like mounting a genuine attempt to chase down the total set for them and as the 48th over approached, they were all out for 188.

The second XI hosted Davenham in a tight game at the Brooklands Cricket Ground.

Winning the toss, the home side put the visitors into bat.

Tom Lett (2-51) picked up the first wicket, removing George Jones for just 10. Scarce resistance was provided from the rest of the top-order, with only Mark Jones (41) really troubling the scorers.

With wickets falling regularly and being shared around the home side's bowling attack, Davenham batted out the 50 overs for 162.

A solid batting performance from the home side saw pretty much all the top-order contributing to the run chase.

Notable performances came from youngsters James Hugall (25), George Foreman (25) and established run-getter Jaydutt Kamath (30).

A strong and stable batting performance from skipper Alan Millington saw the home team over the line with overs to spare.
