TIMPERLEY Cricket Club’s first XI succumbed to a 75-run defeat against Hyde in the Cheshire County Cricket League Premier Division on a hot Saturday.

Hyde elected to bat and struggled at first against Page (2-34) but eventually posted 252-9 off 55 overs, built around the innings of Berry (97) and Young (75).

Jack White again proved potent with the ball, taking 5-48 in 14 overs.

Dropped catches were to prove costly though, as Timperley could only muster 177-8 in reply, with only Cooper (42), Brown (32) and Galley (32) frustrating Hyde's attack.

Cooper was unlucky to fall to a good caught and bowled by Whitaker.
