TIMPERLEY Cricket Club continued their strong start to the 2017 season with six wins from six games last week.

The first XI travelled to Nantwich and Danny Cooper showed a welcome return to form, scoring 63 with valuable support from Kulkarni (47) and Lawrence (32) in a total of 220-9, Jimmy Warrington taking 5-46 for Nantwich.

In reply, Nantwich scored 120 all out, Cooke-Sievewright with 26.

Wickets were shared by Jack White (4-54), Rudolf Brenner (3-14) and Chris Page (3-39) as Timperley won by 100 runs.

The second XI defeated Nantwich by 20 runs in a low-scoring game.

Timperley were dismissed for 79 but a tight fielding effort saw Nantwich skittled for 59.

The thirds visited Brooklands and won comfortably by eight wickets.

Chasing 210, Jason Coad (106 not out) and Martin Porthouse (99) put on 182 for the second wicket to chase down the target with 10 overs to spare.

The fourth XI took on Bowdon Vale and won by nine wickets.

Bowdon Vale scored 141 (Roberts 76) with teenage debutant bowler Anarudh Natarajan taking 3-5.

In response, Timperley openers Fisher and Saini (69) punished any bad ball offered in a 126-run opening partnership to secure the win.

On Sunday, the fifths travelled to Woodford for their opening league fixture and successfully chased down 179 with Mo Ali scoring 89no.

Meanwhile, the over-40s started their campaign with a six-run win at Toft defending 118.
