SALE-based Mersey Valley FC had a long weekend to remember as the club's teams won three pieces of silverware in as many days.

The reserves opened the floodgates as they were crowned champions of the Cheshire League's Reserves Division Two.

Then, 24 hours later, the club's under-12s' were celebrating as they beat Unicorn Athletic to win the Timperley and District Champions Cup.

Finally, the first team sealed a triumphant 72 hours for the club by edging out Knutsford FC's A team in the Altrincham and District Senior Cup final at Moss Lane.

Goals from Zydane McCarthy-Brooks, Danny Watling and Tyler Ferguson gave the Banky Lane outfit a nail-biting 3-2 victory in extra time.

First-team manager Nathan Steele said: "This has been a great few days for the club and I'm so pleased we could finish it in style.

"There were plenty of people from the club supporting us and it shows the spirit we've built here."
