SALE FC concluded their regular National Two North season with a massive 44-14 win at Otley that secured a home play-off against Old Ethalmians on Saturday.

The match at Otley was ferocious and Sale FC raced away to a 13-0 lead through tries from Rhys Davies and Matt Bradley, both scoring for the first time this season.

Otley did not lay down and brought themselves back into the game 13-7 at half time.

However, as they have done so frequently this season, Sale FC stepped it up in the second half with an intercepted pass by Paolo Odogwu 60 metres out, seeing him race away to score under the posts.

This was soon followed by a textbook line-out move putting Scott Briggs over for the bonus-point try.

With Sale FC pulling away at 25-7, moments of Champagne rugby were interrupted by Otley scoring another converted try.

Further scores from Scott Rawlings, Jack Moorhouse and Sam Stelmaszek led to a full-time score of 44-14 to Sale FC.

After an amazing regular-season record of 26 wins and just four losses, Sale FC now find themselves in a play-off for promotion to National One against the second-placed team in National Two South, Old Ethalmians.

The play-off will take place at Heywood Road at 3pm on Saturday and entrance is free for members and under-16s, if you arrive before 2pm.

Admission is £5 for non-members and after 3pm it is £8, with the clubhouse open from noon.
