ALTRINCHAM Kersal's second XV won 24-14 at Glossop in their final game to secure a top-four finish in Sale Sharks Division Two South.

Early exchanges saw both teams taking a physical approach towards their attack with Glossop getting the game's first try after a sustained attack found a hole in the Kersal defence.

This did not dampen Kersal spirits and they responded with a try of their own from Ethan Kennedy.

This score spurred Kersal going towards half time, with a powerful run from centre Jack Snoddy allowing them to take control and a 14-7 lead into the break after Snoddy's try and two Jordan Roberts conversions.

The second half kicked off with Kersal immediately forcing a Glossop error allowing number eight Aaron Loftus to make a clean break on the wing and score in the corner.

Kersal took their foot off the gas after this, allowing Glossop to score a try soon after.

But the visitors were not done and one last try was created by the Kersal backs and finished by Ishmael Bashir, who himself had been evading tackles all match, to seal victory.
