BUDENBURGS clinched the Altrincham and Sale Round the Board Darts League title on Monday night with an emphatic 7-0 victory over Stone Masons.

Jeff Chapman's side only needed a draw in their final match to secure top spot but they won in style to end the hopes of Timperley Cons Club who finished runners-up after a 6-1 win against Railway Sale.

There was some consolation for Paul Andrews and his team-mates as Timperley Cons won the Gallon ahead of British Rail, who finished third in the main league after a 4-3 win against The Station.

Central Club beat Brooklands Tap 5-2 to finish in fourth place ahead of their opponents.

Railway Altrincham beat the Orange Tree, pushing the tree into sixth place.

League secretary Carl Bailey said: "It was a fantastic season of darts and Budenburgs were the deserving winners.

"We are now looking for teams to join the summer league which starts in June and any team or player wishing to join should email CarlMBE@hotmail.com."

The team knockout starts next week giving all the sides a chance of glory in the cup.
