A TENSE clash in the Altrincham and Sale Round the Board Darts League on Monday night saw leaders Budenburgs draw 3½-3½ with fourth-placed Central Club.
Central lost the first game then went on to win the next two and draw the fourth before Budenburgs hit back with two straight wins.
The match rested on the final game between Central's John Thierens and Andy Hopkinson of Budenburgs and John came out all guns blazing to win his game and secure a share of the match points.
With one match left in the season Central have secured fourth place but Budenburgs need a draw or a win in their final match next week against the Stone Masons to take the title.
Second-placed Timperley Cons had a great victory against the Stone Masons, winning 6-1 to keep their title hopes alive.
The Orange Tree, in sixth, took on fifth-placed Brooklands Tap and won 4-3.
Star player on the night for the Orange Tree was Adam Burke who brought out his A game just at the right time and secured the points for his side.
British Rail Club had a convincing 6½-½ win against the Railway Altrincham, while Railway Sale took all the points from the Bricklayers, and Station Altrincham had a bye.
