TIMPERLEY Conservative Club edged the big battle of the top two in the Altrincham and Sale Round the Board Darts League on Monday night.
The second-placed Cons beat leaders Budenburgs 4-3 in a match that went all the way to the last leg.
It means the gap between the two sides is now just two points with four matches remaining in the winter season.
Elsewhere, British Rail Club took all the points in an emphatic win against Railway Sale, putting them on the same points as Timperley Cons but with less legs than them.
Fourth-placed Central Club beat Station 5-2 in a match that was closer than the result suggested, while the Railway Altrincham took the points against the Stone Masons in an important mid-table clash.
The Brooklands Tap earned two more points to put them just behind Central Club.
