TRAFFORD Metrovicks’ season gets no easier in the season of goodwill as they face a tough run-up to Christmas.
Struggling in the Lancashire/Cumbria League and sitting in 11th position – although performances are better than this infers – they now face games against teams in the top half of the table against whom they have already lost to this season.
This weekend MV host a Bolton side that ran out 27-0 winners in the reverse fixture and the following week they visit De La Salle, who were fortunate to win 18-15 in the earlier meeting. However, both opponents have suffered defeats recently so there is a glimmer of hope that the tide could turn. With a good forecast for the rest of the week, conditions should be ideal on Saturday for a good game of rugby which, it is hoped, will suit MV’s talented back line.
With a 2.15pm kick off and no distraction of international rugby then MV will be hoping for a full and loud touchline to get behind the team.
Spectators are welcome with admission free.
Trafford MV are holding the annual ladies Christmas prosecco afternoon tea on Saturday at 12.30pm.
The event is becoming a high-profile event in the club’s calendar and will be well attended by ladies from the club and from the local community.
