WITH the top three in the Lancashire and Cheshire Amateur Football League Premier Division not playing due to the weather, Old Trafford and Gorse Hill took the opportunity to move into third place with an emphatic 6-2 win against bottom side Moston Brook.

Mid-table South Manchester grabbed an 89th-minute winner through Badou Drameh to seal a 1-0 win at Abacus Media and in the only other game in the division, Bedians won 2-0 at Tintwistle.

In Division One, Moorside Rangers lost their unbeaten record.

Despite going into a two-goal lead through McMaster and Sixsmith, Newton Heath got back on level terms.

Moorside then had a goal disallowed and twice hit the woodwork before a defensive lapse let Heath in to take the points. Moorside remain in second place behind Signol on goal difference, despite Signol not playing this week.

Third-placed Milton kept up the chase at the top with a 3-2 win at home to Old Stretfordians and Salford Vics shared six goals in a 3-3 draw at home to Bury Ams.

It is still tight at the top of Division Two where AFC Oldham ran out 4-3 winners against Hooley Bridge.

With Waterloo having no game, this put AFC on equal points with only goal difference separating them.

In the other match in this division, Whalley Range Reserves won 4-3 at home against Newton Reserves.

The game of the day in Division Three was between leaders Salford Vics Reserves and Chorltonians Reserves which ended in a 4-1 win for Vics.

In the other games, Manchester Polonia lost 4-1 to Didsbury Reserves and Cheadle Hulme Villa won 4-3 against Santos.

In Division A, Mellor thirds registered a 6-0 home win against Bury Ams Reserves while Moston Brook thirds won 3-2 against Hargreaves (Bury) and Signol Ath Reserves won 6-1 against Tintwistle Reserves.

There was only one match in each of Division B and Division C.

In Division B, Old Stretfordians Reserves lost by the odd goal in five at Milton Reserves and in Division C, third-placed Oldham Vics Reserves won 5-3 at home to Abacus Media thirds.

Division D was a total washout with no games being played.
