MEMBERS of the High Functioning Trafford group are celebrating success with their karate training.

They have passed their first karate grades.

High-functioning Trafford is a voluntary, not-for-profit organisation set up by parents whose children have high-functioning autism and dyspraxia.

Sensei Ian Swain and his coaches at Sale Dojo Karate Club have been working extremely hard with the group since the beginning of the year.

Ian says he has been very impressed with their enthusiasm and dedication.

He said: "At first we were a little apprehensive with undertaking such a challenging group of children, but after our first session there just seemed to be an instance bond."

The Cartwright Group has sponsored the children for their grading and provided them with karate suits and belts.
