BROOKLANDS Dragons Junior Football Club is holding a Sporting Dinner to celebrate its 10th anniversary - and the guest speaker is former World Cup referee Graham Poll.

The dinner, which will take place on September 16, will raise much needed funds to continue the excellent work which the Sale Moor club does in enabling children of all ages and backgrounds to play football in a safe environment.

The evening will take place in the Community Sports Hall at Altrincham Football Club. The MC/comedian for the night will be Jed Stone who has worked with all the leading sports stars past and present, including Mike Tyson, Ricky Hatton, Howard Webb and Paul Gascoigne .

During the evening a three course meal will be served and there will be an auction and raffle.

Brooklands Dragons JFC is a community junior football club based at Sale Moor Cricket Club, Budworth Road in Sale Moor.

The club was founded in 2006 and currently comprises a membership of approximately 200 children from age 4 up to age 14.

Brooklands Dragons is a family club – not an Academy or “win at all” costs club. For the coaches, results are not important in the early years – the development of the player and child is. By having fun at every training session, they hope that the child feels most relaxed and happy to play and are free to express themselves on the pitch.

The club has FA Charter Standard status.

The organisers of the dinner wish to thank the many local businesses that have already pledged sponsorship for the Sporting Dinner, these include - Mint Bridging, Connell Developments, CTC Tiles, Ken Ward Decorators Ltd, John Gavin Flooring, Watersons Independent Estate Agents, Principal Energy Solutions, Sale Private Day Nursery, Bowdon Contracts & Design Ltd, Philadelphia Scientific, Quinn Civil Engineering, JM Decorators and Kudosable.
