DUNHAM Massey Lawn Tennis Club is opening its doors and holding a free Family Fun Day as part of the ‘I am Team GB’ Campaign. Members of the public are invited to join the residents and members of the club, at Woodhouse Lane, Dunham Massey, as they take to the lawns for free tennis from 2 - 4 pm on Saturday, August 27.

Dunham Massey Lawn Tennis Club was established in 1920 and is one of the oldest clubs in North Cheshire.

It will be one of many sports organisations across the country offering free sporting activities in the region for members of the general public to try. They will also be joining TV shows including Emmerdale and Coronation Street who will be inviting people to join them and take part in this initiative.

On August 27, Dunham Tennis will focus on its sporting activity list and coaches will be available to offer their experience and areas of expertise. Children aged from 6+ are welcome to join in the fun. Anyone can try the sport from absolute beginners to the more advanced and it suits all levels of fitness.

Club marketing officer Sue Bailey said: “The ‘I am Team GB’ is a fantastic initiative to become involved in and try a new sport. Tennis is a great way to keep fit.

"You don’t have to be an Olympian to be part of Dunham Massey Lawn Tennis Club, it’s a case of being active and getting involved and having fun too.”
