THERE were some unexpected results in the Altrincham and Sale Round The Board Darts League on Monday night as The Wheatsheaf took a point off league leaders Timperley Conservative Club in a hard-fought contest.
This opened the door for the Central Club who, in their own tough battle with Stonemasons, just took the victory to join Timperley Cons at the top of the table.
Timperley Cons have more legs won so remain the leaders at this stage.
Budenburgs won convincingly against the Orange Tree, taking all the legs in a superb victory.
Their captain Graham Mathers said all his players were on top form and now they are challenging for the top spot – Budenburgs are third and only two points behind the top two.
The Brooklands Tap are proving to be the dark horses of the league.
In their first season, they are showing improvement week on week and have gone from the bottom half to mid-table with some great wins along the way.
There are three weeks of matches left to play and the four teams at the top are all vying to take the crown.
Similarly at the bottom, there are three teams all trying to stay off the foot of the table.
