ALTRINCHAM Kersal U12 rugby team was victorious in the Cheshire Plate final against Winnington Park recently.
A superb first half performance enabled the team to build up a commanding four try lead which despite a spirited second half performance by their opponents was enough to bring home the silverware. The try scorers were Ethan Steward with two, Will Riley and Juan Chung.
The team had to come through a number of tough games to reach the final but a great team effort by all the squad ensured all the hard work throughout the season was rewarded.
The team has lost only once all year. Highlights include reaching the Wilmslow Festival final and being unbeaten on a tour to Northampton.
