STEFAN Gill and Ingus Bankevics combined for 58 points as Manchester Giants ended their losing run with a 102-100 victory at Plymouth Raiders on Sunday.

The Giants had suffered eight consecutive defeats, but racked up 33 points in the final period to register their fourth victory of the British Basketball League Championship season.

Gill led the way with a 31-point haul, while Bankevics added 27 to help their side make it six straight wins against Plymouth with Callum Jones also weighing in with 15 points.

Daryl Corletto netted a game-high 34 points for the Raiders, but it wasn’t enough as they miss out on the chance to go level on points with three teams above them in the standings.

The Raiders recovered from a slow start to lead by two at the halfway point and went on to double their advantage heading into the final quarter.

But Giants overturned the deficit as the two teams put up 60 points in the final period with the visitors coming out on top.

Giants will look to build on the morale-boosting victory when they host Leeds Force on Sunday, tip off 6pm.
