IT was a frustrating weekend for Urmston Hockey Club as all their teams lost.

Harry Greenhalgh stepped between the sticks for the Men's third team this weekend but couldn’t prevent a 7-1 loss to Liverpool JMU, ending the game with seven players.

Man-of-the-match 82-year-old Greenhalgh stopped several certain goals with Jim Mair spearheading the attack with the Greens’ goal.

It was a weekend to forget across the club with all teams on the ends of defeats.

Captain Charlotte O’Toole was in inspired form as she set up Isobel Seed’s goal in the Ladies’ second team's 4-3 loss to Bury.

Despite losing Louise Haslem with a broken metacarpal early on, the Greens went into the break 2-0 up thanks to two Danielle Harvey penalty corners.

But Bury’s strength in numbers showed in the second half against the 10 players of Urmston as they ran out winners in a closely contested game.

A depleted Men’s first team lost 5-2 to University of Liverpool but remained in second-place thanks to other results in their league.

Jonathon Downes continued his impressive form with a goal alongside James Duke on the scoresheet while Chris Martin Junior stepped up in a solid man-of-the-match performance.

Missing several key players, the Ladies' first team were undone by the counter-attacking power of Timperley Ladies' 2s as Emma Brady picked up another Players' Player for her impressive display.

Aaron Kelly also picked up the man-of-the-match award as the Men’s 2nd team endured a 15-0 loss to University of Liverpool.
