ALTRINCHAM Kersal RFC first team continued its excellent start in North One West with a reasonably comfortable home 30-3 win against Blackburn RFC.

The unbeaten home record now extends to 18 months, and from the first whistle, it was obvious that the AK team were in no mood to surrender this record.

Four tries were scored, securing the valuable bonus point, try scorers being Tristan Laga, Jon Bishop, Steve Richardson and Peter Kilburn.

On Saturday the first team travel to Leigh, who have narrowly lost all four of their league games, but are sure to give AK a stern test.

Elsewhere, Altrincham Kersal second team were less successful and lost by 25-7 against Liverpool Collegiate.

The match saw the senior debuts for Sam Gallimore and Jacob Daldrey, and special mention must go to Jack Snoddy who had a fine game at full back, and Luke 'Beefy' Maitra, with several big hits.

Celeb Jones was man of the match, scoring a try and conversion, in his first game at 'AK' for four years.

On Saturday, the second team are at home to Leigh.
