TRAFFORD MV remain unbeaten in their three matches this season after wrapping up a 40-10 victory against North Manchester.

They started well when MV skipper Ben Wheeler chased to to grab a simple early score to go 5-0 ahead.

MV had plenty of pace out wide and and managed to get the ball to winger James Matthie who flew outside his marker and covering defence to squeeze in the corner 10-0 to extend their lead.

There was no let-up for North Manchester as powerhouse centre Jamie Kingdon took a short ball and burst through the defence.

Wheeler was having an off day with the boot and missed his third conversion attempt with MV at 15-0.

Further pressure from a dangerous looking MV back line saw hooker Ross Anderson, linking up well to send Wheeler over for his second.

The skipper finally struck true with the kick converting for a 22-0 lead.

With half time approaching MV's other wing man Matt Coxon saw his kick from defence charged the ricochet however came straight back to him and left the defence flat footed for him to outflank the cover and touch down, Wheeler was again accurate with the conversion to go in at half time with a healthy 29-0 advantage.

Despite their good lead MV were under performing in the set piece scrums and have a lot of work to do in this area of their game.

Influential back-row Andy Quigley was next on the scoresheet as he fought his way through close defence to crash under the posts with Wheeler adding the extras to go 36-0 up.

Then North Manchester grabbed a consolation try out wide to make it 36-5.

But it was the hosts who had the final say as Matthie scored again.
