STRETFORD'S first team met a very strong Woodbank side and fell to a nine wicket defeat at Lesley Road on Saturday.

Stretford batted first on a sunny Saturday, unfortunately losing the usually dependable Chris Sharp for a duck and found themselves 58-3.

Ibrar Latif and captain Wasim Zafar worked together and took the score up to 141 when Latif was dismissed for 71.

This led to a collapse as Van Schoor and Zafar were out quickly. The rest of the batting only added 40 and Stretford's final score was 189.

Woodbank openers Harris and Dearden made the game look easy in putting together 68 for the first wicket until Danie Van Schoor dismissed Harris for 44. The Woodbank innings carried on at the rate of five and a half an over with Dearden finishing on 83 and McIntosh 57 to win in 25 overs.
