ALTRINCHAM Aces Ice Hockey team have announced new signing Brian Worrall will also be the Aces Captain for this coming season.

Head Coach Robyn Crebbin believes Worrall's experience will be a great addition for the new season.

He said: "Brian has been a dedicated part of the Altrincham and Manchester set up for a number of years now.

"He wears his heart on his sleeve and would go that extra mile to help out the team and his team mates on or off the ice. "He is very much all about the team.

"He is an experienced player and has a wealth of hockey knowledge that he will be able to use to help the team adapt to the way we are choosing to play.

"I am aiming to rebuild ice hockey in Altrincham so it was an easy decision for me to pick Brian as our leader on the ice."

Worrall will be an important player for the Aces next year as not only does he provide the team with important goals his ability to read the play and bring others into the game is a reason why he's not short of assists.

Crebbin added: "He is not shy of hard work and getting back to our zone and helping out the defence, a trait I'm hoping rubs off on our younger players.

It was an easy choice for me to make as I'm sure any team in this league would be more than happy to have a player like Brian on their lineup."
