FIVE LBW decisions in the Urmston innings cost them their chance to close the gap on the top teams.

After restricting Oulton Park to 226 in their 50 overs, a very creditable performance on the leagues smallest ground, Urmston felt confident of reaching the target.

Excellent bowling from Nathan Turner (2-45), Matthew Parkinson (2-80) and Callum Parkinson (3-76).

Urmston's openers started well before Calum Turner (22) and Brad Yates (36) both fell in quick succession. Calum Parkinson fell quickly for only two.

Chris Turner then came to the crease with the score on 41-3.

The score quickly moved to 84 before Chris Turner fell on 28 to a very poor LBW decision, hitting the ball on to his pads after just hitting couple of fours and sixes in previous overs.

Kris Dickenson fell quickly before a 50-partnership with Joey O'Connor and Craig Allison, the latter hitting a positive 34 before holing out off the bowling of Emmett.

Wickets continued to fall with only O'Connor offering resistance with a patient 38.

The final wicket to fall was another poor LBW to Wilson leaving Urmston 50 runs short with six overs left.

Guy Emmett was the pick of the Oulton bowlers finishing with figures of 5-36.

Urmston now face top of the league next Saturday as they entertain league leaders Sale in a must-win game.
