A GIRLS' football team from Timperley that trains at Manchester United's Carrington training ground is looking for more players to add to its development group.

The team, part of Timperley Villa YFC, consists of 10 girls aged 7 – 12, who currently hold winter training every Monday evening at Blessed Thomas Holford School in Altrincham.

The girls play, come rain or shine, and have already shown great commitment to getting the team off the ground. They are now looking for more players to allow them to train against each other and increase their skill and experience.

Gary Sullivan manages the girls' team, and he commented: “Our training sessions are for girls aged seven and older, and take place in a safe and structured environment. The sessions are fun and enjoyable and coaching is for all abilities; whether girls have never played before or have lots of experience”.

The girls' coach, Ged Stevens, is a certified FA coach from SIS Training and he takes the girls through their paces each week. The team is also trains regularly at Manchester United's Carrington training ground.

Timperley Villa is affiliated to the Cheshire FA, so girls and their parents can be assured of high standards. The team is sponsored by local business Copper Media, who have provided the team’s kit.
