THE very pinnacle of cricket will be on your doorstep this August when England entertain India at Emirates Old Trafford for the Fourth Investec Test Match, from Thursday, August 7 to Monday, August 11.

And you could be in with a chance of winning a pair of tickets for the first day of the match by answering a simple question.

It promises to be a sizzling affair with India returning to Manchester to play a Test for the first time since 1990.

Back then, a young Sachin Tendulkar announced his arrival on the big stage with his maiden Test century.

A lot has happened since then: The ‘Little Master’ went on to receive acclaim as arguably the greatest batsman of all time, notching a century of international centuries in the process, while Emirates Old Trafford transformed into one of world’s greatest cricket venues which hosted an Ashes Test match last summer in front of a sold-out crowd.

While Sachin may have retired, his legacy in the Indian team remains. Inspirational captain and wicketkeeper MS Dhoni leads the side, backed up by the supreme batting talent of Virat Kohli, while the likes of Ishant Sharma, Zaheer Khan and Ravichandran Ashwin will be hungry for wickets.

Lancashire’s own Jimmy Anderson will spearhead the England attack and will be on the hunt to surpass Sir Ian Botham’s Test record of 383 wickets. It would be fitting if he achieved this on his home ground.

The Lancashire connection doesn’t end there. Head coach Peter Moores will return to the ground where he enjoyed a successful four-year spell as Lancashire County Cricket Club’s coach.

Tickets for this Test Match start from just £30 for adults and £15 for children under the age of 16, while a family ticket package of two adults and two children is priced from £90, and can be bought by visiting lccc.co.uk/tickets or by calling the 24-hour hotline on 08 444 999 666*.
