SALE first team travelled to neighbours Brooklands on Saturday looking for their first win of the new season.
After winning the toss and asking Brooklands to bat first, the Sale bowlers got off to a good start taking wickets at regular intervals. Only South African Kevin Renecke with a solid and patient 73 really troubled the Sale attack. Spinners Rick Halkon and Ben Watkin taking 5-68 and 3-40 respectively as they bowled Brooklands out for a below par 190.
Sale were always in control of the game despite losing two early wickets.
Contributions from Tyrone Lawrence 35, Chris Canning 69 and Rob Grant 35 not out ensured Sale reached their target for the loss of just four wickets.
