ALTRINCHAM’S synchronised skating teams competed at the British Championships in Sheffield at the weekend – with the juvenile team coming away with a bronze medal.
The event was sold out with more than 50 teams competing over the two days.
The Whizz Kids scored a personal best score of 23.56, not only earning them third place in the juvenile category, but also the Judy Clinton trophy for most entertaining team of the day.
The adult team, the Bladerunners, also scored a PB of 21.54 and came fourth out of 12 teams.
And in the mixed age category, the Silverblades, skated and completed their programme despite two skaters’ laces snapping during the performance.
Coach Sam Ozard said she was proud of all the teams as they were competing against strong opposition from all over the country.
All teams have been invited to perform in Nottingham’s synchronised skating clubs gala and are now looking forward to competing in two further international competitions in march and April.
