THE Stretford and District 501 league will start next week with nine teams in the 1st division after the Bishop Blaze withdrew.
Rileys Chorlton main challengers will be the Winston CC, Partington Working Men's Club and Rileys Altrincham.
In the 2nd division the Little B will be looking to bounce back to the 1st but new boys Brooklands Tap and Timperley Conservative Club will be their main rivals.
Two-times UK Open and World Matchplay quarter finalist, Alex 'The Ace of Hearts' Roy will be at the Brooklands Tap on January 18 to take on members of the audience with prizes for anyone who beats Alex on the night. Entry is £4 on the night.
