FREDDIE Flintoff popped into Sale for some physio ahead of his big fight win last week.
Former England and Lancashire cricket all-rounder, Andrew ‘Freddie’ Flintoff, visited David Roberts Physiotherapy for some pre-fight treatment from his trusted physio, David Roberts, who owns the centre.
Flintoff, who lost three stones in four months to prepare, won his first boxing match against American Richard Dawson on points, 39 to 38.
Following the treatment, Flintoff said: “Dave has treated me a lot since my injuries started in 2002. I have spent hours with him.
“He gives me a lot of confidence and it helps having people I know and trust working on my behalf.
He added: “Physically boxing is the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life. It’s different because of the different movements my body has had to get in shape for - especially footwork.”
Dave said: “All the team here is delighted for Freddie for winning his first big fight at the weekend. We’re proud to have played a small part in his big success over the years.”
